Introducing New Staff: Pastor Sandy Hung

Prior to answering God’s call to be FEC’s Pastor of English Ministry, Pastor Sandy Hung served as the English Pastor of the Winnipeg Chinese Mennonite Church. She was involved in all facets of pastoral ministry such as preaching and worship, leading weekly prayer meetings, oversight of Sunday School and summer camps, and administration, among others.

Sandy is in her tenth year of full-time ministry, with ministry proficiency in Christian Education (Children, Adult, Discipleship), fellowship organization and leadership development, small groups (singles, young couples), Alpha courses, and pre-marital counselling. She was ordained by the Mennonite Church Manitoba in 2016. Prior to entering pastoral ministry, she taught high school (math and science) for about four years. She has a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Regent College, in addition to her Bachelor of Education (major: Science, Biology) and Bachelor of Science (with distinction) degrees from the University of Manitoba.

Sandy’s family immigrated to Canada from Taiwan when she was seven. Fluent in English, she also engages in simple conversations using Mandarin,Taiwanese or French. She enjoys music (choir participation), set designs, and softball (one-time Governor of the Winnipeg Christian Softball League).
